I have recently been having a serious issue with blurring in the middle of my eye. I went to an opthamologist who found "nothing wrong" and suggested the issues was that I had "floaters" in my eye. While I have had "floaters" in the past, they were typically dark strings that moved within my field of vision. The blurring does not happen in the same way since it seemd to always be centered. It is sufficiently troubling that I have a hard time reading from that eye. What is the test that would indicate macular degeneration? I had standard tests for vision, dilated eyes for a detailed exam by the doctor, and a field vision study that tests for light reaction (but I can see light, the issue is blurring). Any similar experience that might clarify this issue would be helpful.
