By June, Medicare will remove a rule that for 35 years has required nurses giving anesthesia to be supervised by a doctor. This action is being taken despite a new study showing that the death rate for Medicare patients is 28 percent HIGHER when a nurse anesthetist gives anesthesia without an anesthesiologist there.

If you or your parents are seniors, contact Congress today and let them know that you DO NOT want this Medicare benefit eliminated and you DO want Medicare to ensure the safety of all seniors having surgery. To send a free
e-mail to Congress now, visit http://www.anesthesiasafety.net.
