: Hello,
: My Dad (71yrs.) was just diagnosed w/ amyloid angiopathy one day b4 his birthday,
: 4/21 00. We do not know anything about the disease at this point, other that the fact that he all of a sudden couldn't formulate his words and had a very unsteady gait.....in retrospect my mother says that he has been more forgetful lately and it has frustrated him.
: He is still in the hospital...just moved out of icu into the neurlogy unit. He can now
: speak but is very withdrawn and angry. He may be discharged from the hospital tomorrow because of depression......I guess some physical therapy will be needed also.
: I would welcome any any info that you may have already found.
: Thank You

My mother also 71 was just told that she has amyloid angiopathy. This after she fainted and the doctors performed a biopsy. I was wondering what you found out and how your father has progressed? What treatment is being done and is it working? We just found out and what I'm seeing on-line is not very encouraging. My mother's memory is starting to go and her speech and walking are also somewhat affected. I hope that your father is feeling better. I would greatly appreciate any information that you could
pass on.

Thanks
