My father-in-law is 90 years old and lives at home with his 80 year old wife. Of late, following
supper at 5:30 p.m., he falls asleep on the couch and sleeps soundly for 2-3 hours. When he
wakes up, he thinks it is morning and time to get up and starts to put on his shoes to
go outside. His wife, with whom he has had a stormy relationship, starts yelling at him
and she finally calls either my husband or me screamng over the phone to come over
because he won't listen to her. We have to go to their home and try to talk calmly to both
of them until we can finally get the situation calmed down and get him to go to bed.

This is happening more and more frequently and we have tried everything we can think of
to change it, but this are people who are very set in their ways and the wife is as much
a part of the problem as the husband.

My father-in-law is generally okay and keeps busy during the day, but just has the
problem at nights.

Any suggestions?
