: My 9 year old daughter has recently developed a meat allergy. It started several months ago with fish, but now includes ALL meats- chicken, turkey, pork, beef and lamb. She complains that her throat feels like it is swelling up or has a bump in it. She also complains of stomach upset. It has gotten to the point where sometimes even smelling the meat makes her sick. Could a meat allergy ever cause anaphylactic shock? Thanks for any help!
Anything can cause anyphylactic shock. I would get her tested and soon and ask the doctor for about an epinepherine kit if she tests positive for this and you feel uncomfortable about the possibility of this happening. Good Luck.
