I have what I believe is a form of non-allergic rhinitis but it isn't affected by the smoke, spicy foods, alcohol, aerosol sprays, etc which are often mentioned as the triggers. My symptoms seem to be only provoked by approaching weather fronts!! I have done a bit of research today and seem to have come up with "eosinophilic non-allergic rhinitis" as the culprit.

When my "allergies" do hit, they wipe me out for at least a day or 2 and that makes it very difficult to take care of my young kids. (Ok, and I get grouchy with my husband too!!) I try to avoid medications but if they are bad enough, I take some sort of OTC medication. These however never seem to help with the sneezing and runny nose. They usually just make me drowsy.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Would Allegra or some other prescription medication like that provide the relief I am looking for?

Thanks!
