I too have experienced this. Trust me I'm still trying to figure out my whole problem, but your problem sounds quite similar to mine. I'm now 27 and I started having problems about ten years ago. I had recurrent throat infections that finally became so bad that they had to take my tonsils out. That lessoned the sore throats that I was having but did not solve the problem. I continued to have chronic ear and sinus problems. I had previously been tested for allergies, but obviously the first tests I had were not specific enough. Last year I had more allergy tests done and was found to be allergic to 23 different items (molds, grasses, trees, pollens, dust, etc.) all of which I am now receiving allergy shots for. I am not cured as of yet, but I do feel that I'm headed on the right track. I've done a lot of research trying to figure out my problem and in my reading I read that often times throat infections can be linked to a milk allergy. Well that is a brief version of my situation. My advice would definitely be to be tested for allergies. There is a test that they do on the upper arms that is more sensive that the tests performed on the back. I would ask your doctor about these. I know if I had had this done sooner in life it would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering. Good Luck.
: It will be one year this June that this allergy type of thing has been going on. I moved back in November, so it may not be my surrounding. My symptoms started out like a cold, with nasal and ear congestion and drainage and post nasal drip. I swore it was a cold, but it didn't really ever seem to go totally away, so I'm guessing allergies. I do have hayfever, but it's not as severe as that. I occasionally sneeze, and have a very dry nose, but alot of excess mucus that collects in my throat and am constantly clearing it. This of course causes further irritation. From the dripping, my tonsils have become inflamed on and off and red looking. Sometimes I feel like I have a lump in my throat, but not always (post nasal drip can do this I'm told). I've also noticed a diminished sense of taste and smell (like when having a cold). has anyone else had this, and could this be an allergy or sinus problem. Can one have a sinus type of infection without congestion or facial pain or fever? This drives me crazy, and I'd like to know I'm not alone.
: Thanks for listening.
