I also have nickel sensitivity. But I did not find out the usual way. As a child, I used to get a lot of mouth sores... and I mean A LOT!! (ie: 5 or 6 at a time) We were trying to figure out which food was causing it, but couldn't stop the sores. Went to the doctor, had all the tests, and then he asked "What happens when you wear 10K gold earrings?" I said that I can't, because my ears turn red and start itching. He suggested that the mouth sores were caused by nickel which seeps into canned food. He said not to eat canned food for a month and see what happens. Sure enough, the sores went away! That was roughly 20 years ago, and I am fine as long as I don't eat canned food. I gave in this winter, and had a couple cans of soup for lunch ..... bingo, sores!!!
I am mentioning this because most people do not make the connection: tin cans contain nickel !!! Does your daughter get mouth sores too??
