: : I went to the allergist today. He said I have severe allergies, imagine that. I have known that for years. He says I need to start allergy shots. Do they work? Has anyone out there had success? Hw told me I would need them for at least four years. That seems like a long time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

: : I have severe allergies myself. I am so allergic to everything that when Iwould get my shots I would have a reaction to the shots although I did feel better when taking them. I do recommend getting the shots. I took the shots when I was younger and stopped them when I had no insurance and thought I didn't need them anymore. Against my allergists suggestion not to stop. Well after I stopped the shots I had an allergy attack so bad it sent me to the hospital and I nearly didn't make it. The shots do help.

Thanks Vicki for the info. When he said shots for four years I almost died, but I guess anything is better than these allergy attacks I have been having for 20 years.
