In Reply to: lots of allergy questions.... posted by Michele on May 07, 2000 at 15:41:08:

Michele,
The reason I sat down at this silly computer on this gorgeous spring afternoon was I was feeling so miserable from allergies, so I guess I know how you might be feeling.
-You could very well be allegic to both tree and grass pollen (grass is getting bad here right now-south-east PA).
-My allergies do get worse with my periods, but they never got better with any of my pregnancies (3) or with nursing ( 4 kids & over 7 years worth).
-It would probably be wise to wait until after you stop taking all meds before even thinking about getting pregnant.
-As for the "disconnected" and yucky feelings. Sounds familiar. I used to "joke" about needing to go away to some deserted beach for the entire allergy season. My patience level is extremely low and my emotions are way out of whack. Having 5 year old twin boys is challenging enough; it takes everything I have not to lose it. By mid day I'm exhausted.
-Tried homeopathic and then naturopathic remedies with limited success. Gave up because I could not cope with stress of symptoms. Now on meds with only minor symptoms. Unfortunately spaciness and other emotional symptoms still a problem.
-Anyone have any ideas about this?
