I have experienced severe stomach aches (not intestinal cramps, but higher up in the stomach area) after
eating fish -- first time baked halibut, last two meals were baked salmon. These attacks last generally
one to two hours, and even when they become less severe, I even feel a little twinge the next day.
Sometimes the pain doesn't start until an hour or so after eating the fish. It comes on slowly and builds.
The strange thing is that I eat sushi, breaded fish (cod), canned tuna, etc., without any problems. I don't know if salmon/halibut are the true
culprits, but it's a strange coincidence. I've had a series of tests for gall bladder (blood, ultrasound), and they were negative. I've never
had problems before with this. Does anyone out there have the same experience, and what have you found out? My doctor is mystified.
