In Reply to: Anyone allergic to grass..... posted by Little Sparrow on May 22, 2000 at 10:42:22:

: I have had a horrible time with allergies this year so I went to an allergist. After thorough testing we found that I am allergic to all types of grass, athlete's feet, cock roaches and a few others. I have started allergy shots on a weekly basis and would like to know if there is anyone else going thorough the same or has been through the same. Mainly the grass allergy. ( I don't have roaches, but I did work in grocery retail for a few years ).Any response would be greatly appreciated.

I have allergies to grass, trees, pollen and many other things. I go to an allergist also, please give the allergy shots time to work. They are not an instant cure but they do work. In the mean time until the help here are a few hints. I do not know your situation but If you are married have your spouse cut the grass. If not try to find someone who will help you out for a while. Keep all doors and windows closed when the grass is being cut. If at all possible have the grass cut for you when you are not home, my husband cuts the grass when I am not home. Try to plan outdoor activities on the patio instead of in the yard. Always wear shoes if you must be in the grass(preferable sneakers not sandels).

You did not say how you react to grass do you get itchy, sneezing?? Let me know and maybe I can be of further help. Good luck
