: hi...
: i'm a 36 year old female...and just in the past couple of years I have suffered with a CONSTANT plugged nose. No other symptoms. but my nose is so very plugged that i sometimes have a hard time hearing...have had to become a mouth breather which really decreases the amount of time i can sleep. I wake up every 1/2 hour or so to take a drink of water because I have "cotton mouth". I have been to the doctors...been tested...nothing wrong. I have been on Clariton, Clariton D, Allegra, nasal sprays and have used Benydryl and other sinus / decongestants like candy...NOTHING WORKS. I've even gone so far as to put Vicks Vapor rub on my top lip...didn't clear my nose up but did give me a nasty rash. My doctors just say I'll have to live with this...but it just seems weird that a person could just develop something like this. I have dogs and cats...but have not shown any allergies to either...and even when I'm gone on vacation for a week at a time (away from the animals) I'm still totally plugged up.
: Any advice??? Thanks.
you may want to see an ears nose and throat specialist to rule out a structural abnormality. I found out I have a very badly deviated septum after experiencing similiar symptoms. Only thing to help it is surgery
good luck
