: I have had these symptoms for about 3 years. A cough, clearing my throat, lightheadedness dizzy, no spinning or vertigo though, ringing in ears. I started taking the OTC Chlor-trimeton and most of the real bad symptoms went away (I was almost incapacitated). I have been taking the drug for about a year. Still clear my throat and cough have slight ringing and lightheadness.
: I have been to 4 allergists, they agree that I must be allergic to something, but they are out of answers. I have been to countless other specialists, ENT, Brain, Etc. all negative.
: I have also been allergic to seasonal stuff for 25 years (tree pollen, grass) etc. But, this is all the time.
: Any body ever heard of this ????
I understand your frustration in finding your allergy and wanting to get to the root of the problem. I have 1 child who has allergies to everything under the sun. My purpose in getting him tested was to find out what was making him hyperactive. I found out that absolutely anything can cause any kind of reaction. I would suggest you get the book by Doris Rapp, M.D. (at your library) on allergies. She has several on this topic and I read the one "The Impossible Child". Easy reading (would have to be for me) and very interesting. She tells you how to try to narrow your search and also how to find an environmental specialist in your area that can test for things that your run of the mill "allergy specialist$$$$" doesn't consider. My 3 older kids were tested with skin pricks and by a blood test for food allergies, that did not show up on the skin tests. They are allergic to wheat milk and eggs. I don't know how these things react on them but by having to cook from scratch for several weeks to figure out what was bothering these kids, we found out that it is red dye, BHT, BHA, TBHQ(preservatives), and sugar that supercharge them. In the process of eliminating these things(we read labels now), their sinus drainage has cleared up and they are much nicer people to live with! My oldest child also gets moody around household cleaners(like I do). He took shots for all the outdoor pollens for 5 years and is doing much better now. My sister found milk caused her sinus problems. I hope Doris Rapp's book gets you looking down other avenues. She was on Donahue years ago and that's how I fell in love with her findings. Good luck.
