: Suddenly I seem to be allergic to any and all lipstick brands I have used for many years. Inside of lips progressing to outside, itchy and swollen, progressing to sores along sides of tongue. Chapstick is the only thing I can tollerate. What is this all about? Any ideas or advise would be greatly appreciated. To pale looking to go without. Must do something. Help.

Annette, I too have experienced allergic reactions when I wear lipstick. About 10 years ago, I became allergic to masquera. My eyes would burn and my eyelashes would fall out. I couldn't believe I'd have to give up wearing masquera, but after spending money on all the brands out there - even the so called hypoallergenic types, they all affected me the same. My allergic responses have continued to happen... Try looking into homeopathic treatments, that's what I'm researching right now. I've also read good testimonials from people who have had their allergies treated with acupuncture. Going to an Allergist in the regular medical field did me no good whatsoever, just wasted my time. Until you find treatment, the best thing to do is to avoid the substances that bother you. Good luck and God Bless.
