: Does any else get a hive-like reaction, with rash and welts, to neoprene, such as that in a wetsuit? How can I stop it??

I've had a bad reaction to both the cushioning around swim goggles (my eyes swelled shut for two days) and to a pair of neoprene waders I bought two years ago for fishing. Each time I've worn them, I've had severe reactions. The first time, which was about four hours per day for a week during a fishing trip, my thighs broke out in a rash that persisted for about a month. Unfortunately, my testicles also swelled to about three times regular size. I went to a dermatologist immediately, who prescribed a pretty powerful topical steroid, which ultimately seemed to work.
