Hi. My mother has been having this problem for 2-3 years and has been to several doctors and none have helped. We aren't even sure if it's an allergy.
Her tongue will swell, sometimes just part of it and sometimes all. Her face swells to the point that you cannot recognize her. ( I am not exaggerating!) Sometimes her tongue swells so much that she has trouble breathing. This will last from a couple of days to a week and varies in severity, but always leaves her extemely tired. This may happen once a month and then nothing for several weeks/months or she may have it once a week for several months. Is this an allergy or nerves? Does anyone have any ideas? Any help that you could give us would be greatly appreciated. Also, someone did suggest recently that it might by Polymelasia. I can't find anything at all on this subject. Am wondering if the spelling is incorrect. Again, thanks for all your help.
