I had a similar problem on my bottom lip and to find out - while I was sleeping I would scrap my teeth across my bottom lip. It took months to figure this out (since I live alone). I thought it was a rash too but it wasn't. When I told my doctor what I thought I was doing - he mentioned that this was common with people who are nervous, stressed, or restless sleepers. It's just a thought that you may be doing the same?
