Does anyone else experience a pre-sneeze wave of nausea? It feels nothing like the standard "pre-sneeze" feeling, which is mainly facial; this is real nausea, like oh-my-god-I'm-gonna-vomit. Then after a minute or two I sneeze (usually three or four times in a row, real "eardrum-busters"), and the nausea feeling is mainly gone. Is that strange or what??!! The bummer is, in allergy weather I sneeze a LOT. :-(
I never had any allergies (or at least, none that amounted to anything) until I was in my late 40s and had a real bout of pneumonia. Ever since then I've had bigtime allergy problems. Sometimes I get the classic sinus type reaction (facial pain, congesiton, etc.) but I also get a very flu-like set of symptoms that include extreme fatigue, muscle pain, coughing, etc., plus nausea .... but the weirdest part is that pre-sneeze nausea! Sometimes it's literally bad enough to turn into "dry heaves".
I'm so glad I found this board! I always read everything I can find on allergies but they always talk about congestion, sneezing, and coughing - never about things like nausea, burning red face, fatigue, etc. It makes me feel less distressed just to know that these are fairly common allery reactions.
