I had bad reactions to any strong smell while suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Strong smells (especially hairspray) would usually trigger migraines, or nasea, or cause a worsening of my chronic fatigue. Many people with CFS cannot handle strong smells well. During the time I had active CFS, I acquired many new allergies and sensitivities. I saw Dr. Jay Goldstein, in Orange, CA, and now my CFS has been in remission for two years. I handle strong smells now without any adverse reactions. If your husband has similar symptoms to mine when exposed, he should probably make a visit to Dr. Goldstein.
