I had acrylic nails for about 9 months and then developed an allergy. The skin around the cuticle became swollen, blistered, and itched horribly. I had them removed and and waited for about 6 months before trying them again. I was able to leave them on for about 4 days before the previous reaction became unbearable. Not wanting to give up, I waited about a year and tried again. That time I couldn't even leave them on one day. The last time I tried acrylics was about 9 years ago. Does anyone know what I could have been allergic to and if maybe some of the products used with acrylics have changed for the better? Thanks
