I'm in my early forties and never had any signs of allergies until the past couple years. What's been happening the past six months is that I occasionaly wake up in the morning to swollen puffy eyes and sore lips with my bottom lip being very red and puffy, with a red, sore line outlining it (sometimes the line is fairly wide and my mouth looks like I misapplied lipstick). It is also very sore, and my lips will peel. There is no sign of blistering. I woke up to a severe reaction this morning, and all I can think of is that I was at a wine tasting last night and tasted several red and white wines (I usually just have a couple glasses of white in the evening). I also ate much cheese (another known allergy cause) and several almonds. Does anyone have a clue as to what the culprit for my problem might be? Right now I'm thinking in terms of the wine and almonds.
