I have come to suspect that I have an allergy to FD&C Blue Lake #2 because I have reacted badly to drugs that have used that color to dye the pill a pretty yet pharmachologically useless color. One of the drugs was an antihistimine!!! and the other an anti-depressant. Both caused a hives reaction. While I could certainly be allergic to the anti-depressant, the antihistimine should not have caused hives. The only connection between the two drugs is FD&C Blue Lake #2.
Does anyone know of any allergic reactions to FD&C Blue Lake #2>
