I have been experiening a problem with clearing my throat for the past 6
weeks. When I clear my throat, it is nonproductive and I have a slight
tightness in my chest at times. If I try and not clear my throat, I feel like I
am going to choke. I am fine when I am sleeping. I sleep through the night.
When I first wake up, I am fine for a few minutes and then it starts. I have
been put on Antibotics and it did not help. I have been to a number of
doctors that have said that it is Allergies or GERD. I am 25 years old and
have never had any problems with heartburn. I do not experience any type
of pain. So, I am not sure if I believe the GERD idea. I have had allergy test
and they came back with a result of a high reaction to Dust and Dust
Mites. The only symptom I have is post nasal drip like a river going down
the back of my throat and sometimes I am a little short of breath. My nose
is fine and I hardly sneeze. My allergy doctor has put me on Allergra
160mg (Allergra 60mg did not help me) and Flonase, however the post
nasal drip is still there. It tends to get worse after I eat. Do you tend to
create more post nasal drip after you eat?? Could I have a food allergy all of
a sudden? I am starting to go crazy. It is so annoying to have to clear or
throat every other minute. What could be causing all this post nasal drip
and why all of a sudden??? Does anybody know what I can do to lessen it?
