: I have been experiening a problem with clearing my throat for the past 6
: weeks. When I clear my throat, it is nonproductive and I have a slight
: tightness in my chest at times. If I try and not clear my throat, I feel like I
: am going to choke. I am fine when I am sleeping. I sleep through the night.
: When I first wake up, I am fine for a few minutes and then it starts. I have
: been put on Antibotics and it did not help. I have been to a number of
: doctors that have said that it is Allergies or GERD. I am 25 years old and
: have never had any problems with heartburn. I do not experience any type
: of pain. So, I am not sure if I believe the GERD idea. I have had allergy test
: and they came back with a result of a high reaction to Dust and Dust
: Mites. The only symptom I have is post nasal drip like a river going down
: the back of my throat and sometimes I am a little short of breath. My nose
: is fine and I hardly sneeze. My allergy doctor has put me on Allergra
: 160mg (Allergra 60mg did not help me) and Flonase, however the post
: nasal drip is still there. It tends to get worse after I eat. Do you tend to
: create more post nasal drip after you eat?? Could I have a food allergy all of
: a sudden? I am starting to go crazy. It is so annoying to have to clear or
: throat every other minute. What could be causing all this post nasal drip
: and why all of a sudden??? Does anybody know what I can do to lessen it?
I am 32 and have had a post nasal drip most of my life. I have noticed it is stronger when I consume fatty foods and milk products. For the past 5 years I have been drinking a product called Barley Green. Among other possitive effects, I immediately noticed that it clears my throat right out....if taken ritually, it rids the body of toxins, thus, no more flem build up.
