: Can anyone tell me if it possible to cure oral allergy syndrome. I have tried one course of desensitisation to hayfever, as my allergist thought that may cure the problem, that is if we got rid of the pollen allergy the cross reactions between pollen protein and food protein may also cease. Does anyone have any ideas???? Help me!!!! I'd love to bite into an apple again!!! I can't eat any uncooked fruit or raw vegetables and it's killing me!!!!

My allergist suggested microwaving the apple for 20 second or so, placing it in the fridge over night, then trying it. He said that I may have to play around with the length of time but he thought that the microwave would break up the protein causing the problems. I haven't tried it yet but I know where you're coming from - I haven't had an uncooked apple in about twenty years!
