I don't know if you're in the States or the UK, but in the UK you can get something called a "challenge battery" from the hospital (from my dermatologist). This is basically 21 numbered envelopes, each one containing 1 or more tablets inside. The idea is that you take one envelope a day. The tablets contain different substances like preservatives, additives etc and there is also a control among them (mine was lactose). You don't know what they are when you are taking them, I guess so you don't jump to any conclusions. My reaction to sodium benzoate was virtually instant.

Since I discovered this my life has changed so much for the better. Good luck and I hope you can get some help.

Please contact me again if you think I can help in any other ways as I know what your husband is going through.

: Hi:

: My husband recently has had several bouts of lip and facial swelling, and still seems to be happening. We supsected allergy, and did everything to eliminate anything new (I even through out some of MY cosmetics because he kisses me, but nothing works.

: Louise, how did you discover what you were allergic too? We are baffled.

: Thank you.
