In Reply to: Does Non-allergin Cat Litter Exist? HELP!!! posted by Charlyn on November 29, 1999 at 15:12:51:
: Every cat litter I have tried produces an asthma attack. The hardest-clumping I've found ("Tidy Cats") took
: a long time to become sensitized to, but unfortunately, even that brand eventually caused an asthmatic
: reaction, too. I am desperate here-breathing is, to put it mildly, slightly important to me.
: Before I hear a collective yell (GET RID OF THE 2 CATS!), I should say that they are kept for more
: than just pets. They are a major emotional help in fighting my chronic depression (don't laugh-hey,they
: work!). I will try anything (almost) first.
: My duplex is too small to allow the placement of the litter box in a far-away spot, both my daughter
: and I have air filtration units in our rooms, and I have replaced the house air intake filter with a HEPA filter
: Also, when i clean the box (daily), I wear a surgical mask.
: So, anyone out there who has solved this problem?
Have you tried the recycled cat litter. It is actualyy recycled newspaper. It doesn't clump like cat litter, but it works. Plus you won't have to clean up the litter off the floor.
Just a suggestion though. I think that you can pick it up at any pet store. Good Luck!
