: I have very watery eyes, that often itch and hurt, no doc has really helped, it really driving me crazy, I am the one who has declared this condtion as allergy related, any suggestions?

Soon after my son was born he had trouble with watery, sometimes mattery, eyes. But it came and went and the opthamologist said his tear ducts were not plugged. He would repeatedly get eye infections from rubbing his itchy eyes. By the time he turned five he was itchy in just his left eye. We had him tested for allergies but the results were negative and the doctor said he would never be allergic in one eye anyway. One specialist thought he might have blepharitis as he had excessive cradle cap (seborrhea) at 3 months age. But it turned out to be a bacterial infection. His eyes were still itchy and he was finally able to say he mostly itched around his eye, not "in" his eye. I started using the antihistamine eye drop on his eye lid and he hasn't had an infection in over a year. His symptoms are worse in the winter.
