: Hi...
: This is a very very very dumb question, but....

: If someone is allergic to wheat, does that person neccessarily have celiac disease? I believe I am allergic to wheat, but I am very tall (no stunted growth), rarely have diarrhea, and have been experiencing weight GAIN rather than loss.

: It's a simple simple question but no one seems to have the answer for me.

: Thanks in advance

HI Chris,
The only 2 people that I have known with Celiac Disease had very loose BM's with diarrhea when ever gluten containing food is eaten.Whereas Wheat allergy can do many other things such as bloating, nausea, etc.Why don't you not eat wheat for four days and try other gluten contain foods such as oat meal to see what happens--then eat wheat.Make it a process of elimination like a rotation diet.If you have celiac ---you'll have diarrhea when you consume gluten--foods.
Good Luck ----Harry
