Hi this is my first attempt to use a message board, so bear with me. I am searching for information that might help me manage recurring bouts with hives. I am 55 years old, male, and this has been occuring for years sometimes every few months usually, but sometimes years go by without an "outbreak" When it happens it is ususally at night, and I usually feel nauseous also, and the hives come on quickly and are severe. I pop three benedryls as fast as I can and get in a hot bath and try to just wait it out. Lately they have been more frequent, and sometimes the histamines build up in my lungs and I get short of breath. Some doctors have told me it is a food allergy, but I cannot identify a food or other cause. I broke out in hives once from a new detergent, and am careful to use fragrence free products, etc. when I can. I am worried that an event will occur that will cause me to black out. Reading the articles, I don't find much that sounds like the way @me. Any advor information would be welcome. Thanks, Ken
