: I have muscle twitches, occurring at irregular intervals, in many areas of my body. Not at all severe and not hindering any activity, they could be characterized as a flutter here and there. Nothing more powerful than causing a slight twitch in a finger, or an annoying one in my calf. They generally last in any one place less than a minute.
: I am a serious lifter and have not noted any weakness in my exercizes or peak lifts/grip.
: Definitely I am prone to hypochondria lately, as my brother had a brain tumor that was successfully treated. I had an MRI(clear) and basic examination by a neurologist, who told me that I demonstrated no symptoms of any disorders...this of course was before the twitches.
: Any insight? Am I just a victim of the damn internet and its easy access to all possible symptoms? I definitely knew the symptoms of MS and ALS before this all began.
Ben,
My brother was diagnosed with ALS a couple of months ago so I am certainly not an expert but if you have no weakness in your arms or legs and if you have had no other problems(trouble breathing, muscle cramps, etc.) then you are probably o.k.It was smart of you to have a MRI after your brother's scare but I am glad yours was clear. If you begin to have any of the symptoms I mentioned above, you may want to go to another doctor for a second opinion.
Best of Luck,
Kristi
