Amanda, hi there. I was so touched when I read your message. The reason I was so touched was because I too went searching for a place for my mother to live. She was having many dellusions and having a difficult time living on her own. However, she refused to admit that there was anything wrong with her. It took some planning with my other family members to get her to go to the hospital. After that everything seemed like a huge whirlwind. And before I knew it I had decided to put my mom in a facility in Northbrook that only allows patients with Alzheimer's to be admitted. At first I was scared. I was worried how she would react and how others would respond to her. But looking back (it has been about a year now) I cannot imagine her not being there. She has made so many friends with other residents and also the caretakers. I feel so lucky to have found this facility and I wish you all the best with your grandmother. Good luck.
