John, one of the earliest signs I noticed was sudden violent anger over trivial things. This was about 3 years ago. He also was depressed and slept a lot. Prozac helped tremendously with this.
Another was difficulty understanding conversations without repeating; seemed unable to quickly process information. He would think I said one thing that sounded similar to what I actually said.
Now, he has been on Aricept almost 2 years, and who knows how much better or worse he would have been without it. His short term memory has really deteriorated the past three months.
It's a terrible disease, so I hope you nor your loved ones have it.
