: My Mother in Law has been on Arisept for 9 months. She is now getting all the simple questions asked at the 3 monthly check up correct, except she can't remember the 3 objects she is told to. However despite this, which apparently proves that the Arisept is working, we see her as getting progressively more confused. She lives on her own and is so far independent. She has an obsession that the Arisept are making her feel "funny, not quite right" and so she wants to pack up taking them. The real reason for this is that for her to receive Arisept she had to relinquish her driving license. This has upset her and become an obsession. She thinks that if she stops taking the Arisept she will be able to get her car back!!
: My question is the funny not quite right feeling. Is this the Arisept or progression of the disease? I take it the confusion is the progression of the disease despite an "improved memory".

: I am a homeopath and have given her homeopathic Aluminium in the hope that something may improve. Has anyone heard of success from this remedy and can give me potency and frequency? So far I have gone up to Aluminium 200.

Response to your mother "not feeling right / feels funny.
My mother has also received Arisept for an extended periond of time, although she did not show any signs of improvement mentaly. She now is in a convelescent home, but for months prior to her admitance, had often mentioned that she was not feeling right or felt funny. This comment was often the response when prompted to go shopping or stay over at my house and visit with the grandchildren, etc. I hope you don't feel let down by the changes in your mom. It sure is a continuous struggle, so keep up the good work.

sincerly, Karol Planetta
