Maybe those in charge of financing have it themselves :( I thought medical research was supposed to work for the people. This lack of support has to be an anchor, if not counter productive all together. I really don't like this.
AIDS is a politically correct illness that liberals are fond of; it's their pet cause. Alzheimer's suffererers are not an organized group of voters so they don't get the attention of legislators nor the media.
