We at the Alzheimer's Research Foundation are testing dietary supplements of VitaminE (400 units), plus Gingko biloba (100mg) and Gotu kola (250mg) and St. John's Wort (350gm) administered daily. The combination of the herbs (get the Vitamin E at any pharmacy or health food store) is available commercially in measured dosage (capsules) for about $15.00 per a month's supply (60 capsules), or you can buy them individually.
This is NOT a cure, but has been shown to slow the process and even reverse some of the depression associated with the early-mid stages. Evidence of cognitive improvement is sketchy at best, and only slight in the best of cases.
