Perhaps the violence occurs mostly in the latter stages. My mother was fine as long as she was in early stages. She was just confused but handled it. Later on when she COULDN'T understand, and had bad feelings she was like a 2 year old that had her toy taken. She just hit. She also fought to do what she wanted.
I sincerely hope you find some kind of help- and that you don't get violent. But the supervisor of a rest home told me it is common that they get violent.

Maybe they don't know their own strength or mean to do it. I just don't know.
