Visiting my mother with Alzheimer's has been rather awkward for me. It seems I never knew what to talk about, how to approach things, or what to say. A book entitled, "Visiting Mom" by Sherry M. Bell, Ph.D., has been a revelation for me! Her book offers some wonderful suggestions and ideas for making the most of your time with a loved one with Alzheimer's. This is the type of information I have not been able to glean from support groups or any of the literature I have read. Her book is well researched and written with warmth and love. When I heard her talking about it on NPR recently, I knew I had to have the book and ordered it online. It has made such a difference for me...and for my mother. I recommend it highly!
