My large family was filled with strained relationships even before the diagnosis of Ad and now we have placed my mother in assisted care. Our father is a 83 alcholic who always was physically and emotionally abusive to all of us and recently Knocked my mother around in a night of too many cocktails. We all have struggled with my mother as well and now we find ourselves faced with trying to assist them both with care. I would like to hear from other people who have similiar situations--surely we are not the only ones who never had the "rose garden" relationship that some people have been so fortunate to have had and are now losing touch with.
