In Reply to: Anemia - Heavy Periods/Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding Anyone Else??? posted by Denise on July 17, 1999 at 19:30:16:

:Hi.
Dear I know how you are feeling. I to get dizzy spells and shortness fo breath, and I get very tired between 7 and 8 every night. I also have very very heavy bleeding when I am on my period. I don't know what to do I just went and had my blood tested this morning. I hope you are doing better. But I would like to ask you a question if I may. How is this going to change my life if I am anemic? Thank you and good luck with everything.
: Hi,

: I was recently hospitlized for 4 days due to severe uterine blood loss, which was preceeded by 4 months of some usually heavy/clotty periods. This time though, the bleeding was not stopping. I was put on Premarim IV to stop the bleeding and I'm now on heavy doses of bc pills because I cannot afford to lose anymore blood by having a period. My recovery for the blood loss will be 120 days. My red blood count was 2.75, my hematocrit was 25.3, and my hemoglobin was 8.8. I'm taking Chromagen 3 times a day now and will be further evaluated for hormonal imbalances, thyriod (I already have hypothyriod but may need higher dose of Synthriod), possible fibriod removal etc..

: My question is has anyone with anemia ran low-grade fevers, had intermitent chills or had swollen neck glands? I have had extreme fatique, dizziness, mental confusion and fogginess, a sore sensitive tongue and small canker sores, a rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. Anyone else??

: PLEASE HELP!!!
