When I was in college I worked nights. At the time a blood bank truck would come around once
a month and people would donate blood.
When I tried to they checked my hemoglobin level and it was 9!!!
Needless to say I didn't donate anything that day.
Like you I was given iron supplements but what helped most as when I slowed down.
Look at your lifestyle, apart from the usual collage burdens, are you working your body to hard?
I don't know about going to a hematologist, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
