: My husband was diagnosed with pernicious anemia about a year ago. His Doctor says there is no need to retest his B-12 levels since the shots he gets every 3 weeks ensure that his B12 level stays normal. Should he be checking more often? My husband says he can tell when he needs a shot, the Doctor disagrees. Anyone out there with a similar experience?
Yes I can . Although my doctor was pretty good about listening and watching my blood levels the first few years. Did his doctor do the Schillings test part 1 & 2 ? My wife is very understanding and she is a nurse so she gives me my shots. Mine got pretty bad and 7 years later sometimes I still forget things and have trouble with buttons. I would suggest another doc. My doc doesn't have good bedside manner and isn't sympathetic and I think I needed that.
