: Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this ailment?

You can't exactly get rid of this ailment but you can get treatment. Have you been given the shilling test? It all depends of why you have it also. Are you a vegetarian? In which case you need to eat foods high in B-12 and that is dairy and organ meats and if that is not possible you may need to up your B-12 intake with vitamins or go in for B-12 shots to just keep it up. If you have pernicious due to the lack of intrinsic factor in the gut which helps your body to absorb this particular Vitamin, well you are in for a life time of treatment. Since our body doesn't absorb through the stomach it has to be absorbed via tissue which is injection and that is the most reliable way at this time, tho some people have had fair results with the nasal gel, it is not for everyone, just like any medication. I've had it all and the injection is the only way for me and it isn't all that great. You need to discuss this with your Dr as to what form of treatment is best for you and be patient as this could in itself take a very long time to find. Good luck and remember there is alot of us out there with this, I was diagnosed at 45 but was symptomatic for several years before that. NancyH
