: I have read through some of your posts. I have noticed that some of you have problems with balance and dizziness. I have been having these symptoms since Oct 99, along with others such as pins/needles feeling on my body, speech and vision problems, itching clumsiness, memory loss and always tired, feeling that I do not really know where the floor is at and basically having problems walking.
: I feel like I am drunk and this weekend was one of my worst with the balance/dizziness.
: I have had MRI of the ear and of the brain and they are all negative. I am currently on valium for the dizziness because my dr seems to think that it is something to do with my inner ear.
: Last month I had to get a physical for my job and I was in the office last week to get a shot that I needed. The nurse on the way out of the office said "Oh by the way you might be anemic, some of your blood cells were low".
: I was in a hurry to pick up my daughter from school so I told her I would go back later.
: Do any of you think that these are symptoms of anemia?
: What are the "numbers" that I should be looking for that would indicate anemia?
: Do these "numbers" change as to what time of the month it is?
: By the way what do you mean by having an unsteady gait?
: Why do some people that have anemia have balance problems?
: Thanks in advance,
: Alice
Hi Alice,
The symptoms you describe are connected to anemia. If your doctor gives you iron to correct the problem it would be a good idea to take an antioxidant because iron is a free radical antagonist ----which means iron can damage healthy cell and cause other problems. Vits C,E and A are antioxidants. But,one That is stonger is Grapeseed extract. God Bless---Harry
