: During my first hen pregnancy, I had a strong urges for Ice. It appears I was Iron difficient. And again, last year, I experienced the same urge for Ice and was feeling tired most of the time. Had blood tests and I was anemic once again.
: Another symptom I experienced at the same time was slight insomnia.
: I now consider these two symptoms to be a signal of iron deficiency.
: It is imperitive, however, that you see a doctor for blood tests before considering Iron supplements. But if this is what you need, you'll see the difference. Good Luck
: oH BOY!
You sound just like me I haved just been diagnosed with some pretty bad anemia, though I have had blood in my urine for years and the cause is still unknow I am not sure what caused me to get so ill. I am assuming that waiting for ever to go to the Doc's didn't help. I had no choice after spending 2weeks in a blurry stuck in stupid and dead tired state, my legs and arms hurt so bad I felt like a had a terrible flu.
Any way guess what I have been eating ice like a madd woman for the past two years I dont leave home without and now its like a bad habit.
I must tell this that I have heard both sides. That ice eating is a side effect of anemia,
and that anemia is side effect from continually eating ice. The later is one to think about if you are like me and have been doing the ice eating thing for a period of a few years or more.
I have like eating ice since I was little but only recently did it become a crazy habit. But did it cause my anemia or is this something related to my frequent and never ending kidney and bladder infections. I guess the doctors my be able to provide me more info after some test next friday. Good luck and God bless. Care for yourself first and then you will better be able to care for others. (listen to me lecture you,ha ha ha).
