: Thank you so much for writing back. I didn't think anybody was going to respond. Thanks for ideas about sublingual B-12s and checking the iron also. I made an appointment to see an Ear specialist also just to be sure I don't have vertigo or some kind of vestibular disorder. I am kind of nervous about it though.
: You have definitely made my weekend writing back. Checking the message board helps me realize there are other people in the world with this besides me. My Doctor makes me feel like I am the only person with PA and it is some strange disorder. I know now that it is a lot more common that he knows.
: Thanks again for responding and I will keep checking the board...we are all learning and helping each other, that's for sure.
The responses on the message board have seemed to lapse as of the last month. I'm not sure why, but since I'm new to PA, I'll keep checking. RE: Doctors - we have to remember that they are human, too. They've been trained a certain way and don't always know to think outside the box. It's important to read and research as much as you can in both Western and Eastern medicine. Then when you talk with your doctor, you can sort out the good from the not-so-good. Also, trust your body and your instincts. If you are not getting the treatment you think you need, go elsewhere till you do. (If I had done this sooner, I could've caught the PA much sooner as my internist's standard reply to the low iron and H&H was "Eat more red meat.")
I've started a healing macrobiotic diet with the goal of healing my stomach cells. Having PA sets you up for a lifetime of sickness and possible worse case scenario down the line: polyps, stomach cancer and who knows what else. Well, I don't want to live my life with illness as the main focus and user of energy, so I'm summoning up the patience and committment to turn this around.
Keep in touch and let us know how you are and what you find out. I will do the same...
Take good care!
