Anything I say should not be a substitute for advice from your physician. I would ask my doctor about what kind of exercise your
wife can do (warm pool therapy limits the weight on the leg joints). Losing weight if overweight is also helpful in relieving arthritis.
Capsaicin cream would be one alternative I would talk over with the doctor as it has proven effectivness with arthritis. There are
some new NSAIDs out that dont harm the stomach like the older drugs that your wife might benefit from. If your own doctor doesnt
feel this is appropriate, you can always get a second opinion.
