: Does too much caffeine cause Arthritis to be worse?

: I am a heavy caffeine soda drinker, and my hands are hurting to the point I am having trouble working. The only thing I have found to help is running Hot water on them. Curious if caffeine plays a part in this pain.

Hi Marsha,

I'm not an expert, but I'm not sure there are any arthritis experts. What I've heard about caffeine and other stimulants is that they heighten your awareness of the pain. Some books say there is no arthritis diet but others say there is and you should stay off caffeine and sugar which you may also have in your sodas.

Good luck to you, my sin is chocolate, Gramps
