In Reply to: Glucosamine Chondroitin - What is the source of these products? posted by Diane on December 10, 1999 at 17:20:35:
I found this explaination on the web... glucosamine sulfate..This simple molecule is composed of glucose, an amine (nitrogen and two molecules of hydrogen), and sulfur. The web site is at http://www.qualitycounts.com/fp/glucosa.html
In the reading I have done it appears there is little scientific proof that Chondroitin is of much help primarily because of a very low absprption rate. Also, Glucosamine HCL may be a little better. Do you plan on taking vitamin and mineral supplements as well?
: Hi, I just found this board. I have been considering using Glucosamine Chondroitin supplements, but I have some concerns. They say on the package that these are naturally occuring substances found in the human body. They supplements that I usually use all say on them "no animal by-products" or something like that. But, on this particular product, they don't say that. My question is: Where do they get it then? Is this an a manufactured product, or is it taken from a human source? this is extremely important to me. I appreciate anyone's help.
: Thanks,
